UnionActive Version 3 is now available as an upgrade option to all existing clients. Here are some highlights of the new system:

Modernized Look and Feel
In this version the core template has been significantly redesigned allowing more layout options and a providing for a modernized look and feel. The core template has also been standardized which allows for more consistent display across a multitude of browser and computer types, as well as making it very smart phone browser friendly. Modules that were previously built in Flash have been replaced with advanced scripting modules making them globally compatible, even on iPad and iPhone browsers.

Mobile Version
The new system includes a full mobile browser version of the site. When users navigate to the new system on a mobile phone they will automatically be directed to the mobile version of the template. The mobile version provides a narrower format for easier viewing on a small screen plus quick application links to the message board, downloads, and several other areas. There is also a quick menu for easy navigation.

The home page of the mobile template includes an article rotator that will rotate though all the articles on your sites home page from the what's new module and all 3 headline modules. The mobile home page also has the calendar module and login module, and it can be customized to include any other module you want. With this new template, all modules are fully iPhone/iPad/Mobile browser friendly, including the animated and scrolling modules.

Social Networking Tools and Modules
Social networking icons and control buttons have been built into the new template. Visitors can quickly click a Facebook or Twitter icon to share any page in the site. There are also modules available for Twitter feeds and Facebook widgets.

Using the custom module controls you can easily add any social network or embedded widget to the site on the fly.

New and Enhanced Modules
A number of new modules are available for an enhanced user experience. There is a rotating module now for the what's new area, a photo thumbnail slider, a section articles module, new UnionActive Newswire modules, and a number of new menu options.

The image rotator module has been redesigned without using Flash making it viewable in any browser including on iPhones and iPads. Some modules have also been enhanced for quicker navigation. The calendar module and several others now load on demand without requiring a full page refresh. The module controls have also been refined to make controlling and moving modules even easier.

Recent Website Activity Since Last Login
The member home page now includes a recent website activity module that automatically shows each member who logs into the site any updates to major areas of the site. The members will immediately be able to see how many new message board topics have been posted since they last logged in, how many new classified ads have been posted, new blog posts, new meeting minute uploads, new document uploads, and other new content since they last logged into the site.

There are also quick links to each area in the notifications so members can get right to viewing the new content.

Resource Group Enhancements
The resource groups have been enhanced with file sharing between members of the resource group. If allowed, members of the group can now access a shared file upload page where they can upload and share files with each other.

The resource group forum buttons also now display how many new resource group forum topics have been posted since last login making it easy to know if there are updates.

Feature Enhancements
Several features have been enhanced as well for quicker navigation and a better user experience. The photo gallery now loads on demand while paging through images, and has an enhanced image viewer. The news feeds, calendar, and several other features also load on demand now.

Category options are also being added to the downloads area and several other areas.

Menu and Page Enhancements
The new system includes a 3rd level menu option for posting sub-articles. This allows you a higher level of content structure and easier navigation and setup of pages and articles.

The page display has also been enhanced to allow preview, full, and none display options for articles on menu pages, just like on the home page. The article forms also allow you to control the exact preview text for each article now, as well as still providing the automatically generated preview text.

Built-in HTML Editor
The built-in HTML editor has been updated to a more enhanced version with extra options for inserting embedding code from YouTube, Facebook, or any other location easily without having to switch to source code view. The editor also has a built-in online spell checker now as well, and is full standardized.
